About me
I began writing when I was fifteen. I wrote slang definitions on Vukajlija, the Serbian version of what Urban Dictionary is to the world. There, I met a lot of amazing people, and they noticed that my definitions were long and pretty heavy. They encouraged me to try writing something longer.
So I did.
I started a blog under a pseudonym and wrote almost every day for five years straight. I just made it a habit to sit every night, and I write about whatever was on my mind at the moment. Mostly rage, insecurities, and the depression of a young man trying to figure himself out. During that period, I also sent short stories and poems to contests. I won a few small awards for young authors and several of my short stories and poems were published in collective anthologies. Writing every day changes you. It's freedom, incredible freedom of expression and thoughts. So I'm hoping I'll be able to do it again, even though it's the hardest thing I've ever done.
In the decade that followed my blogging days, I didn't write much. I was just busy, trying to make some money and build a nicer life. I did manage to do that, at least to some extent, but looking back, it seems like a terrible waste of time. I enjoy writing, and I denied myself that pleasure for years. That should tell you a lot about me - the sovereign ruler of my own destiny, who has spent countless hours shaking fists at the heavens after each neatly executed act of self-sabotage.
Since then, I’ve written two more novels. I'll tell you more about them on the Works page. Now I’m chasing a fourth. It might be sci-fi, or it might be more of the same madness. We'll see.
None of these novels has been published yet, but we'll work on that. And I'll write regularly on Substack. It's a start.
